Nothing to show at the moment really, so this will just be a ‘newsy’ blog.

‘The Book' – If you look at the d4Daisy website you will see that 'Stitching the Textured Surface', is almost ready. Maggie is having a giveaway with those that order on the first day and I’ve made a start on some postcards using some of the techniques shown in the book.I keep meaning to point out that this book is NOT a printed version of the Fibre in-Form online workshop nor has any of it being previously published. You may have had a sneak preview of a couple of the pieces in the book without realising it, but the rest is all new work with some fresh ideas. We all think it looks great and hopefully you will too.
The book will also be available for purchase on the Fibre in-Form website – which has just been given a massive makeover, take a look here – it’s very chic now. Let me know what you think.
We’ve also got an exciting new online workshop coming up from Carol T. She has some really great ideas to share – so keep a look out for more news on that later. Her first lesson alone inspired me so much that I started on my own project – even though I have 101 other things I should be doing.

A couple of weeks ago I went to Atlantis near Whitechapel with Pat. Although the photos in the catalogue slightly exaggerated the actual size of the place it was still huge and it is just so good to be able to pick up and handle the products you normally buy over the internet – nothing quite beats that ‘see before you buy’ feeling.
I wanted some Treasure Gold but when I went to pick it up, Pat pointed out another product –and of course I just had to buy it in three of the different colours they stocked, didn’t I?It’s from Gedeo and is called Gilding Wax.
All I can say is, move over TG there is a new love in my life.:)
Its wonderful stuff. You can rub it on or paint it on with a brush and the really good thing is that it dries in next to no time. Why hasn’t anyone told me about this before??

Another great purchase I have just made are these pump action spray bottles:Saw them at the ERTF meeting and managed to grab a couple before they all disappeared. I have been using the sort you buy from any hardware store but they are not ideal as they tend to splodge a bit and also make your hands ache. These are so much better and well worth the extra cost. So I ordered some more from ArtVanGo and they were waiting for me when I went to work this morning – a very good start to a Monday :)

And the last exciting bit of news, for me anyway, is that the Fibrepaperarts group in Swansea have booked me for another workshop. They are a great bunch of girls and were the ideal students for my very first workshop so I am really looking forward to meeting them all again.

As for the Calendar Girls card for this month, even after all the very helpful suggestions I had I am still no further forward – and only 3 days left to go!
It certainly hasn't helped receiving this months card from SusanD Isn't it absolutely wonderful? It's a watercolour painting and the fact that it is only postcard size makes it even more amazing.

Enjoy the rest of your week.

I can't wait to get my hands on a copy of your book and the postcards you made look so interesting. That Gilding Wax sounds great and the Calendar Girl postcard is amazing - what a talented artist. I'm off now to check the Fibre in Form website.

I bought some. Reading all these blogs can get expensive for the must have's like myself.
It does look sumptuous though.
Well found Lynda.
Looking forward to the book.
Cheers
Shirley

Your posts might be few and far between these days but they are always very interesting!! The book looks great and I can't wait to get my hands on a copy. PS Love the idea of you being stumped by a calendar page (there is a sort of divine justice!!) And by the way thanks for another product I will have to try! Looks deliciously creamy and quick drying meets my number one criteria.

Brilliant news on the book, it seems to have come to the publishing stage really quickly.
I love the pump spray, must get one a my old hair spray ones just don't do the job.
This Atlantis place is definitely a place to avoid if I'm ever to get any new clothes this summer.
