Yes, Dressels!
The vessel I blogged about last weekend put me in mind of the shape of a dress which is why I added the two 'handles'.
So I thought that maybe I would create a series of vessels based on costume - Historical, Theatrical, whatever - and call them 'Dressels'.
These two here are just for fun really. Both made using the same technique as the last vessel - painted Bondaweb, Foil (courtesy of Fibre in-Form) and organza, layered then embellished by machine.
This first one is based on a costume from Cirque du Soleil.
And this one is based on a Ra-Ra skirt.
Hands up who remembers those :)

What fun Lynda... and what fabulous colours and texture.
Boy, are you into a great series. Each one is so special-makes me want to rust to my machine. Sandy
Great idea - I can't wait to see the rest of the series.
Dressels :-) That's a wonderful idea! Love both! Can't wait to see whats next. How big are they?
These are wonderful. I am intrigued as to which costume from Cirque du Soleil gave you inspiration. I think I know which one - I am a great fan of Cirque du Soleil and and find the costumes, colours and everything about the shows such a feast for the eyes and soul.
Love your work.
these vessels seem to have grabbed you with real inspiration - lovely work, I'm really enjoying seeing you be so inventive.
Fantastic, I just love the idea of the series based on costume,
the colours of the top dressel are stunning,I remember the Ra Ra's, but was too old to wear them :(
I look forward to seeing no 3, if the fabric is any thing to go by it will be stunning.
Oh my god, what a series this will be! I love the rara skirt, oh i so remember them! The 80's was not my friend!!! You are getting better and better results with this technique. Love the proportion of the rara better than the top one, but both colours are just lovely. Got to get moving on mine!
What else can I say but brilliant!!!! I love the texture and colours of the first one and can't wait to see what you do with the 3rd Dressel, great name BTW.
You rock girl all of the "dressels" are fantastic and I am in awe of what you are doing.
