More dyeing

I've been experimenting with more dyeing this weekend.
The first set of samples are scrim that has been dyed using Brusho Powder.
I heard about this method some years ago but never got around to trying it.
I bought a box of 24 colours from Rainbow Silks. They have turned out really well and so easy to do. The colours stayed the same even after drying. Obviously I haven’t rinsed them but for the project I have in mind washing will not be an option so it doesn’t really make much difference.

I used kitchen towel to mop up the excess paint. The colour isn’t quite so bright on these after drying but Acrylic Wax or Gel Medium will soon alter that.

This is how my washing line looked this morning.
I dyed more scrim, muslin and cotton velvet with Procion MX dyes. Wonderful colours.

This is the scrim and muslin waiting to be ironed.

And this is the cotton velvet.

Just look at these two colours together, Brilliant Pink and Brilliant Turquoise.

Now I've just got to get around to doing something with all these pieces of fabric!

Wow Lynda you have been a busy girl. What glorious colours can't wait to see what you do with them. I was going to order some things from Rainbow silks next week but I can see I'm going to have to add Brusho powders to my list.

What a feast for the eyes! These are almost edible aren't they? Gorgeous! Do you mind if I ask where you get your scrim and cotton velvet for dyeing?

Your washing line looks great with all of those lovely colours. I need to do some dyeing as mine is only ever filled with greying undies and holey teatowels (probably more info that you really wanted, lol!)
