Yesterdays Post

Fridays is always a good mail day for me, I’m convinced that the postman saves it all up, and this week was no exception.

My Fibre Art Friend page swap for July is with Francoise ‘Creatilfun’. Her theme is ‘Writing Systems: Past and Present’. I haven’t started on her page yet but Francoise has already sent me a ‘Black, White and a Dash of Red’ page. It’s a wonderful page, very neat and well finished, as is all her work.

This close up shows the wonderful red and black fabric that Francoise has used. I love the little embroidered hearts – a very nice touch.

I also received a surprise parcel from Jacqueline. It contains such a variety of fibres, fabrics and papers including hand made and marbled paper. Jacqueline is very generous and such a talented lady too. It was really exciting opening this parcel and seeing all the different bits and pieces that she had put in.

This is the piece of work that you can see at the front of the contents of the parcel. It is fabric topped with organza with metallic foil trapped in between then FME over the top. It has a lovely scrunchy texture and looks amazing when the light catches it.

I have just realised you can’t see these two bits of fabric in the main photo. They are cotton fabric that has been dyed with batik worked on the top. There is absolutely nothing in this parcel that I know I won’t have a use for!

This parcel from Jan (Jan doesn't have a blog, but she ought to - her work is amazing) was a swap we took part in on CarolT’s ‘Taylors Textile Trials’ Yahoo group ‘Textile Challenges’ for inchies in the colours of our choice. Mine of course were black and white!

Jan also sent an ATC using the same colourway.

What made this little parcel extra special though was this gorgeous little bag that the inchies and ATC came in

Its organza with FME and beading. Very delicate. Its stunning.

Lastly, I just had to show you this. I received a parcel from Mags ‘Digital Gran’, the return of something I had lent her, and she put this little thank you card in – one of her digital designs!

I think your Postie saves all your parcels until Friday to save himself a daily trip to your house. They were worth waiting for. That scrunchy piece is fantastic.
