Rusty Journal

Anyone remember this from a while ago?

I've got quite a stash of rusted fabrics now so I decided to do something with some of them.
And this is what I came up with - a Rusty Journal.

More rusted fabric for the inside. The pages are just painted with Dr Ph Martins Radiant Inks which are concentrated watercolour dyes, maybe I should have tried painting them with rusty water instead.

This is a close up of the front showing some of the rusted lace that I used.

The technique I have used for creating the fabric for the front cover will appear in the Premier Issue of Fibre&Stitch.

This is lovely. I struggled putting my book together, but obviously it can be done nicely. especially like the raggy spine. Fantastic, I'm jealous.

I am having trouble introducing some variety in my comments as there is always something on your post that makes me say "fabulous" or "stunning"!! Seriously though, this is just fabulous! I am dying to know about the textured fabric - lucky I am subscribed...

Ditto to the lady above, I just want to keep saying "gorgeous" over and over! And it is, I love your rusted fabric and what you've done with it, and the rusted lace is, well, gorgeous! :-)

Looks great Lynda--You know it's not that long ago when we would have thrown out anything that had rust marks on it--how things change.
