Slinky Secrets

This is the page I made for the Fibre Art Friends fabric page swap for May.
My partner this month was Carol of Textile Tales and her theme was Just Creamy.

For some obscure reason all I kept thinking of was creamy bosoms, which led me to thinking of Barbara Cartland (I’m sure she would have used that phrase in one of her books) And that led me to thinking pink, fluffy, sexy and this is what I came up with - 'Slinky Secrets'.

Scraps of scrim have been embellished on to a cotton velvet background then a light layering of soy silk has been embellished on top.
I used FME in an off white cotton thread in a circular motion over two layers of scrim to make the basque and panties.

These were stitched in place onto the background then I embellished more silk on top to blend it in.

Then I found this really sexy creamy poem with a wonderful punchline which I just had to use. So I made the page into a ‘book’ and printed the poem on pages inside. If you click on the photo to enlarge, you can read the poem.

French Knots, beading and pink and cream ribbons completed the look. The tag is made in the same way and has the words 'Slinky Secrets' machine embroidered on with a couple of charms attached.

The original poem written by Kelly Ann Malone called 'Just Luscious' can be found here.

Hi Lynda, I am Kelly Ann Malone and I wrote the poem "Just Luscious" I don't recall anyone asking me to use the poem, but you did use it is a very lovely way. Do you happen to have another copy of "Just Creamy" that I can have?

Thanks, KAM
