The Fiber Art Friends group has a monthly birthday postcard swap going on and it was my intention in the beginning to make a personalised postcard for each member, but this month I had four to make, plus a latecomer from last month – and my head just emptied!
As I had enjoyed making the padfolio, I decided to make a postcard size one for all the birthday girls. Hopefully, they have all received them by now.

My second task this week has been to make the 1” squares for a swap I joined on the Textile Challenges group. The first batch of nine squares is for Carol of Postcards and Stuff, the owner of the group, in her colour choice of purple and turquoise. I decided to use different techniques to create each square. Laid out on their own they looked very unexciting.

Then inspiration struck! Last week I had received, amongst other things, a tag, so what better way to display these squares than on a tag?
I scrunched up purple tissue paper and glued it to heavyweight watercolour paper, cut out a tag shape, punched a hole in the top and used yarn in place of string. I also stuck a label on the front of each tag with details of the technique I had used. Carol was very pleased with them.

I have since completed a set for Judy in pink, not one of my favourite colours, but I was surprised at the amount of pink items I could find in my stuff. Just emerald and metallic to make now.

What a great way to display fabric inchies Lynda. I have quite a few from swaps I have taken part in and am not sure what to do with them. These look great.

And I love your postcard size portfolio's.

By the way I am going on a creative holiday in 5 weeks and am going to wear the wonderful Wild Woman brooch you made me- at every opportunity!

Was wondering if your little granddaughter liked the pink Dotee doll I made for her. Am sure she did but wanted to check with you :)

Lynda - I want the pink ones! They are absolutely gorgeous - my favouritist colour. Still don't know how you manage to get so much done - all those padfollios and inchies and tags!! I know you said that your dust is an inch thick but mine is double that and I don't have all that to show for it!

Your presentation of the inchies is spectacular. I so appreciate the way you commented on technique for each and ever one. Not only are they a feast for the eyes - but a learning experience as well. Bravo Lynda!
